Everything to fill the room — in order.

One page: what to do first, who does what, the co-host's job, the office, the trial-night shoot, every post, and the ad/listing stuff.

What we've got: the venue (the office, Griffintown) + 3 people who can help + a female co-host. What we need: bodies (esp. women) and content. Both come from the steps below — top to bottom.

Priorities — do in this order

// event is july 3 · tight timeline · DMs + co-host carry it

1
today

Stand up the storefront + announce

  • Make the event Instagram (handle, bio, link in bio).
  • Make the listing — Luma (curated, approval ON, free, cap 30) or Eventbrite. Get the link → it feeds every QR.
  • Film + post the announcement video (script in Content ↓). Just you, good light — no venue/food needed.
  • DM your 8–10 strongest people 1-on-1. Brief the co-host to start inviting women today.
2
this week

Recruit — women first (ratio is the whole game)

  • Co-host invites her network + brings friends (her job #1).
  • Post "tag your single friend" (the reach engine — script in Content ↓).
  • FB groups (MTL 20s/30s, New in Montreal) + daily story.
  • Over-invite ~2.5× (free events flake) and confirm everyone 2 days out.

this week ★

Trial night at the office

20–30 min dry-run with the 3 helpers + co-host → rehearse the flow AND shoot real ad footage + the listing cover photo, at your actual venue. Details in Trial night ↓. Highest-leverage thing you can do.

this week

Listing cover + (optional) ads

  • Use a trial-night photo as the cover — authentic, at the office, zero AI smell.
  • Optional paid boost on Meta/IG: 22–27, Montreal, that real photo/clip. Details in Ads ↓.
5
jul 2–3

Confirm + run the night

  • Confirm every RSVP (kills ~50% flake). Lock ratio.
  • Day-of: decorate (lighting!), run the rounds, shoot the recap → sells event #2.

Team — you + 3 helpers + co-host

// assign these now so nobody's idle on the night

You — host / MC. Welcome, rules, run the bell, never let anyone stand alone.

Co-host (female) — recruiting women + warm-greeter + on-camera trust signal. Full brief ↓.

Helper 1 — photographer / videographer. Content all night (b-roll, candids, interviews).

Helper 2 — check-in + bell/timer. Name tags, the "move" signal each round.

Helper 3 — floater. Wine refills, replenish the board, rescue stragglers.

Co-host — what we need from her

// she's the single biggest lever on turnout + vibe

Her 4 jobs

  • ① Recruit women (the #1 thing). Her network = your ratio. Personally invite + bring 2–3 friends. Women come when another woman vouches.
  • ② Be on camera — in the announcement and/or a story. A woman co-hosting is the biggest trust + safety signal for female RSVPs. Worth more than any ad.
  • ③ Curate + balance — help approve the women's list, keep it 22–27 and ratio-even.
  • ④ Day-of warmth — greet women at the door, make it feel safe and fun, be a connector.

Give her: the listing link, the "bring a friend, you're both in" line, and 2 ready DM scripts:

"hey! me & [you] are hosting a cozy wine & cheese night july 3 in griffintown — small curated group, 22–27, super low-key. i'm helping pick the people. you + a friend in? 🍷"
"throwing a little wine & cheese hangout july 3, would love you there — bring your most fun single friend, you're both on the list 👀"

Venue — the office (Griffintown)

// you've got it · undecorated · that's fine

Confirm first

  • Alcohol OK? · stay till ~9–10pm? · cleanup expectations? · can we move furniture?

Turn an office into a night (cheap)

  • Lighting = 80% of it. Overheads OFF · lamps + warm string lights + flameless LED candles (office = no real flame). Warm-white 2700K only.
  • Zones: check-in at the door · speed-round stations (one side stays, one rotates) · grazing + wine table on the far wall · a mingle corner. (full layout in the playbook)
  • Use the existing office tables/chairs — no rentals needed.

Use it NOW for content: film the empty office for the "watch me turn this into a cozy night" tease, and run the trial here ↓.

Trial night — rehearsal + ad content in one ★

// this week · 20–30 min · you + co-host + the 3 helpers

Set one candlelit corner at the office — board, a couple wine glasses, warm light. Run a mock 3-min round, pour wine, actually talk + laugh. Helper 1 films candidly + grabs stills.

You walk away with

  • Authentic ad footage — "a real wine & cheese night at the office," not stock, not AI. Exactly the vibe you wanted to advertise.
  • The listing cover photo (one good still).
  • A recap-style reel you can post before the event ("a little preview 🍷").
  • A rehearsal — you test the bell, timing, rotation, and where the zones go.

Content & video

// full plan + scripts → videos.html · post assets → materials.html

① Announcement — today's main post ★

on screen: "i'm hosting a cozy wine & cheese night in mtl 🍷"
"Okay, I'm doing something a little different. I'm hosting a cozy wine and cheese hangout here in Montreal — July 3rd, in Griffintown, for people 22 to 27. The vibe: a small curated group, good wine, a big cheese board, warm lighting, and a few low-key speed rounds so you actually meet everyone — then open mingling. No apps, no clubby chaos. It's free, and spots are limited so I can keep it balanced. If this sounds like your kind of night, comment WINE and I'll send you the link — and bring a friend."

② Tag your single friend — the reach engine ★

on screen: "you + your most chaotic single friend, july 3 👀"
"single in montreal? this is your sign. wine, cheese, and actually meeting people — july 3. tag the friend you're dragging with you. if you both come, you're both in."

Why: every tag notifies that friend directly = free targeted reach; activates the pair dynamic + balances ratio. Seed it (tag your own friend first), reply to every tag.

③ Empty-office tease · ④ Trial preview · ⑤ Day-of recap

The empty room ("watch me turn this into…"), the trial-night preview (above), and the post-event recap reel. Full shoot-list + calendar in videos.html.

Ads & listing

// eventbrite / luma + meta · real photos only

The listing (Eventbrite or Luma)

  • Luma = curated/approval, free, clean — best for keeping ratio. Eventbrite = more organic discovery search traffic. You can do both (Eventbrite for reach → Luma for the real list).
  • Cover image: 2160×1080 (2:1), under 10MB. One real photo, minimal text. Don't put date/time/price on the image — there are fields for that.
  • Use a trial-night photo as the cover (authentic + your venue). Eventbrite literally says skip generic stock.

Don't let it smell like AI

  • Real photo > generated, every time. Real grain, one image, breathing room, minimal copy.
  • Avoid: warped hands, plastic skin, melted text, fake bokeh, "diverse people laughing at nothing."
  • Free real stock if needed: Unsplash · Pexels (commercial, no attribution).

Meta / IG ads (optional, paid)

  • Best creative = your trial-night clip/photo. Target: 22–27, Montréal, ~10km, interests (wine bars, singles/dating, events).
  • Small budget ($30–50) to the announcement or trial reel, CTA "comment WINE" or straight to the listing.
  • ⚠ Keep it honest — advertise the vibe you'll actually deliver.
